Brief Program Description:  The Homeless Young Parents Program will provide children with a safe, nurturing educational environment; prepare children to enter kindergarten ready to read and learn; and support homeless parents so they can stabilize their home lives and become self-sufficient.

Length and Duration of Program: one year
Target number of families to be served: 70 families with 100 children

Brief Program Description: Provide parenting skills to low income and/or homeless families

Length and Duration of Program: yearlong with a minimum of two interactions per month
Target number of families to be served: 30 families

Home Visiting Services / Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters

Length and Duration of Program: year around

Mary’s Center
Program Name: Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

Brief Program Description:
A two-generational approach to enhance and repair the parent-child secure attachment as well as create a predictable, safe and consistent behavioral routine.

Length and Duration of Program: 2011-present     In the department: 5 times per week, 3 hours per day.   Per family will receive: 24-32 weeks, 1 time per week, 1 hour per day.
Target number of families to be served: 32 families will continue to access services or begin treatment.

Program Name: Show Up, Stand Out

From the Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants (OVSJG) in Washington, DC. The program helps parents to get their kids to school every day and help to solve the problem of truancy in DC schools. If your child has 5 unexcused absences, this program is for you.
